Unlike many resources, this isn’t merely a list of keyword tools.  Holly explains what each tool does, and why she would use it in a specific situation.
She gives you her favorites, as well as many obscure ones, with a majority of them being free!  Holly also discusses what a niche is and why we use them and she even goes into detail about some specific ways to find niches from seasonal ideas to what’ going on in the news. Honest Riches is definitely an all in one course for the internet marketing community.

In this section of honest riches Holly talks about the importance of research.  Research can mean the difference between a successful campaign, and one that brings you no money at all. She starts off by discussing the need for a plan of action, and moves in to brainstorming, finding trends, revealing keywords and phrases, and even focusing on your target market.
Not only does she explain each topic, and why they are important, she also gives you a nice little chart right in the book that you can duplicate and use for your own research. This is where you move beyond foundational information and start getting your hands dirty.

In this part of the book Holly discusses how to find affiliate programs to use in your promotions.  She discusses the difference between independent programs and affiliate networks, and how to determine which one to use.  This section outlines some of the pros and cons of each, as well as compares some key features like if there is a cost to join, the payment structures, research features, and fees.  She also outlines some of the better affiliate programs that cater to international users, since not every program does. This section of Honest Riches also discusses why you need to think like a consumer when searching for programs and products to promote.

In this section of the book Holly gives you an introduction to affiliate marketing.  Those new to the whole concept will find this section informative, and those who have been at it for a while will most likely know it already.  However, I still read the section as it gets you used to Holly’s way of writing, and everyone has their own take on affiliate marketing. She breaks it down very nicely by covering exactly what affiliate marketing is.  She goes into how affiliate marketing works, and wraps up the chapter by discussing the process of joining affiliate programs.

In this part of the honest riches course, Holly talks about preparations.  Why is preparations important? Because this is what gives you a goal to shoot for, a target, it sets your business in motion.  She touches on visualization, actually thinking on and picturing the exact desired outcome in your mind.
Holly talks bout using “dream boards” to put together a collage of pictures that represent the goals you have.  She also explains the difference between having a goal and having a direction, and why having goals are better.

At this point in Honest Riches, you will have a pretty good understanding of affiliate networks, programs, and where to find them.  Holly gets into the specific criteria to look for in an affiliate network, which can also be applied to independent affiliate programs as well. Some of the topics covered are: How many programs in the network, payment methods offered and how payments are sent, refund policy, any costs to join, and payment and processing fees.  For each topic she gives you the exact questions to ask, and explains why you should ask them.  Having done this many times, over and over, she knows what questions you need to ask to get the best results.

This section of Honest Riches covers the bread and butter of affiliate marketing, the affiliate link.  Holly explains what the affiliate link is, and gives you examples of what they may look like and how to cloak them.  The simple fact is that people steal your commisions, or, if they feel you are getting paid from their purchase, they’ll just strip your info off and go directly to the site.  Link cloaking will change how the link looks so it’s not as obvious.  Holly not only explains this, but she gives you step by step examples of how to make it happen with html or php, so you don’t need to run out and buy that super cloaking software that is for sale.
